Top Spotify Artists This Month: A Look at the Current Leaders

Spotify recently announced that it has reached an impressive milestone of 422 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs) worldwide, with a quarter-on-quarter increase of 16 million users. Amidst this growth, several artists have risen to the top, dominating the charts and playlists on the platform.

Interestingly, four out of the current Top Six artists on Spotify globally are from Britain, while the other two are from Canada. British artists such as Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, and Coldplay, along with Canadian sensations Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, have made a significant impact on the platform.

Ed Sheeran, in particular, stands out as he remains comfortably at the top with an impressive 84.31 million monthly listeners. Despite not having released a new studio album since October 2021, Sheeran's popularity shows no signs of waning. He is just shy of 5 million ahead of Justin Bieber, who has 79.66 million monthly listeners and narrowly pips The Weeknd (with 76.59 million monthly listeners) to the No.2 position.

Other notable artists in the current Top 20 include Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, and Drake, among others. These numbers demonstrate the immense reach and influence of these artists on Spotify, cementing their status as some of the most popular musicians globally.
